Closing down Rygge airport

Ryanair confirmed in a press conference on June 2,  in Oslo their previously announced decision to reduce the flight program at Rygge airport south of Oslo, following the Norwegian government decision to apply a new seat tax on all flights at Norwegian airports.

Due to the significant reduction in volumes at RYG, the airport owner RSL board of directors decided that the airport will be closed down as from  November 1, 2016.

This will obviously affect Aviator branch at RYG and Aviator management has initiated a process with the staff unions to evaluate the consequences.

Air Europa at Gatwick

I must announce that following discussions with Air Europa we have not been able to meet their expectations for vastly reduced handling rates and they will be moving to another agent at Gatwick from 12th July 2016. It is always disappointing to lose a long term customer – especially when our strong service delivery has been recognised by their LGW Manager and at their Head office. //Clive Darbon, Commercial Director Aviator
