Mark Gower appointed as Strategic Business Partner

I am pleased to announce that Mark Gower has been appointed as Strategic Business Partner focusing on all Contractual and Operational relationships with Norwegian Airlines.

Within this role Mark will be working with all stations and departments that interact with the Norwegian contract across our network. This is an exciting new position for Aviator and is both representative of our intention to deliver excellent service to our customers and  symptomatic of the collaborative approach to the range of services we offer. This position will report directly to me.

Mark has recently joined us in the UK after the acquisition of the Servisair business where he was the Service Delivery Manager for Norwegian, in that time he has built up a good relationship with Norwegian, which he will bring into his new role. Mark has over 15 years of Aviation Industry experience.

Emirates appoints Aviator as ground handling provider at Oslo (OSL)

Aviator successfully won the Emirates tender for ground handling services at OSL  to serve their new DXB-OSL-DXB service commencing on 02. September.

The new daily service is planned to operate with a Boeing 777-300ER with capacity of 360 passengers, in Emirates world class First-, Business- and Economy class configuration.

In a comment, Aviator CEO Mr. Paul Synnott expressed his pleasure at the award; “This  a wonderful opportunity for Aviator to prove our dedication to safety and customer service, tailored to Emirates unique world renowned products”. He further added  ”we are delighted to be able to extend our relationship with Emirates and extremely pleased to have been awarded this important contract”

Aviator Finland signs contract with SAS

Aviator Finland have signed a 3 year contract with SAS. SAS currently have approx 5.500 yearly fights, mainly operated by (Blue1) B717 aircraft type. SAS are operating with regular flights from Helsinki to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo and charter flights during summer.

Nordic ground handler enters the UK

The EU Commission has approved Aviator’s acquisition of the former Servisair Ground Handling operations at London Gatwick and Newcastle Airports in the UK and at Helsinki Airport in Finland – as well as the former operations of Swissport International at Birmingham Airport in the UK.

Aviator agreed to purchase these operations from Swissport International in April this year.

At London Gatwick, Newcastle and Birmingham, Aviator will provide ground handling for a wide range of national and international airlines.

Aviator is currently the largest independent aviation services provider in the Nordic region and enters the UK market in line with its strategic development plans.
Aviator CEO Paul Synnott: “We have a clear strategy to broaden our portfolio of aviation related services in the UK and to use our presence here as a platform for expansion both within the UK and into new geographical markets.”
With the acquisition, Aviator adds almost 600 employees in the UK and 300 in Finland to its present 2,900 personnel.

Aviator Expands Ground Handling Operations at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport

The EU Commission has approved Aviator’s acquisition of the previous Servisair Finland ground handling operations from Swissport International. Aviator agreed to purchase the business in April this year.

The EU has also approved Aviator’s acquisition of similar ground handling operations at London Gatwick, Newcastle and Birmingham Airports in the United Kingdom.

Aviator is currently the largest independent aviation services provider in the Nordic region and expands in Finland and the United Kingdom in line with its strategic development plans.
Aviator CEO Paul Synnott: “We have a clear strategy to broaden our portfolio of aviation related services and to use our presence in Finland and the United Kingdom as a platforms for expansion both within the two countries and into new geographical markets.”
With the acquisition, Aviator adds 340 employees in Finland and almost 600 in the United Kingdom to its present 2,900 personnel.

Finnair har valgt Aviator på Tromsø lufthavn

Det er med stor glede vi kunngjør at Finnair i dag tildelte Aviator i Tromsø kontrakt for leverering av  bakketjenester for deres vinterprogram mellom Helsinki og Tromsø.

​Finnair vil operere tre ganger i uken fra begynnelsen av januar til slutten av mars med en Embraer 190 (100 seter). Dette vil gi europeiske- samt langdistansekunder muligheten til å besøke Tromsø, også kalt “Nordens Paris”, i all sin vinter og vår herlighet. Ruten til Tromsø er en praktisk utvidelse til Finnairs langdistanseflyvninger til / fra Fjerne Østen, den vil knytte japansk turisme til det høye nord i Europa og vice versa. Den nye ruten gir også nordmenn i nord en lenge ønsket mulighet for et direktefly til den vakre finske hovedstaden med alt den har å tilby, og videre forbindelser til Finnair globale nettverk.

Ny adm. direktør for Nordic Aero

Nordic Aero styrker sin ledergruppe med ansettelse av ny administrerende direktør. Nordic Aero er en del av Aviator-konsernet.

Nordic Aero har utnevnt en ny administrerende direktør.1 september 2013 tiltrådte Ola Strangeways sin nye stilling. Ola var sist Operations Director for Havas-Europa og tidligere hatt omfattende erfaring fra SAS. Ola tar over fra Paul Synnott som har har hatt ansvar for både Nordic Aero i tillegg til hans CEO ansvar for Aviator Group. Paul vil nå konsentrere seg om sin konsernsjefrolle og fokusere på den strategiske retningen for Aviator konsernet.

Utvidelse av cargo handling i Norge

Aviator-konsernet fortsetter sin strategi om å ekspandere i Cargo Handling segmentet ved å starte Cargo Handling på Oslo Lufthavn (OSL) 1. september 2013, med DHL som sin første kunde. Aviator og DHL er glade for å kunngjøre at de har signert en ny nordisk kontrakt for levering av bakketjenester ved OSL, SVG og BGO. I tillegg har partene også enige om å forlenge kontrakten for ARN lufthavn, som startet i november 2011..

Aviator vil investere i nytt utstyr inkludert en high loader og transportører. De nye investeringene, sammen med den eksisterende utstyrsparken, vil ikke bare sikre levering av DHLs høye krav, men også gi Aviator med ekstra Cargo Handling kapasitet.

Aviator/Novia signerer kontrakt med Air One

Det italienske charter selskapet Air One, vil være i drift fra København til Venezia. Første flyvning er 18 mai, og de vil fly tre ganger ukentlig i løpet av juni, juli og august med en A320.
